For those who organized the big garage sale in parkway estates today (this morning) it looks to be a huge succes.. My only concern is the massisve amount of cars that flooded the streets (morning hours).. Both sides was jammed with cars leaving a narrow way to get down the streets as people parked and walked.. What if a squad or pumper had to get down the street in case of emergency, everything is blocked along with fire hydraunts ..!! Also, the waste management trash driver and recycle truck trying to get in their added to the fiasco.... If this is done again next year maybe the chief can shed some insight on traffic/parking control..

I personally contacted Waste Management and advised them that this sale was going on. The operator took all the information and said they would forward the message to their dispatch dept. Not sure if the message was forwarded or not, but it appeared to me that they came at "regular" time. I couldn't really pay attention--did anyone see them having a problem getting around?? Oh well.....

Have you ever drove through Unionville during the Unionville Around the Block Sale?? They CLOSE the ENTIRE BACK SIDE OFF. You cant get a car through there! Its hard to get through RT 84! You can try to tell them where to park but they have to actually do it. Im sorry the garage salers park by fire hydrants I think that most people know they shouldnt. Maybe next year we can ask for people not to park on the fire hydrant side of the road!

Every so many feet theirs "No parking signs on both sides of the street".. Theirs a reason for this, village :rules ... This is why I see so many residents parking on their front lawns which really looks like CRAP and than you see graffitti painted(occured this past week) at the entrance way of parkway estates that says "MADISON HEIGHTS".. I would rather see parking on non fire hyrdraunt of street only, this issue keeps coming up and i never see anything resolved, i recall our councilman was suppose to do something about this issue last year as their was complaints at council meeting because of village pd enforcing it on resident.. Yesterday with over 45 homes having a garage sale at one time parking was a cluster mess, especially on parkway drive and west parkway, at times people couldnt get up and down the road, it was a complete standstill with cars honking and waving for people to back up..
