Yes we do respect each others opinions and we have done way more than most to make the MFD a better organization that recognizes the talents of the firefighters who work there daily. Waterfront and I have a combined career of nearly 40 years in the MFD and we have never turned our back to things that were not right and not in the best interest of the MFD and the community. Someone has to do it and there has been a group of individuals, many on this Forum, who have worked very hard in carrying the torch for fiscal responsibility, better management, better treatment of the firefighters and demanding the highest quality possible from all aspects of the organization. If you have been sitting on the sidelines doing nothing but criticizing then you need to get out of our face.

All, everyone is entitled to an opinion and I think lefty is entitled to state that he doesn't feel the statements made have been supported by facts. Everyone here feels they are the experts, however how many do indeed walk the walk. I understand many have been involved int he past, but that is the past. Just like many issues that have been discussed are in the past. How many are involved in the now, are involved in the service being provided today. My profession has changed dramatically in 10-15 years, I would imagine public safety has as well.

The Madison Fire Department administration has changed, is changing and to be honest, I saw huge changes under the leadership of the interim Chief. I certainly hope that continues with the new Chief. Personally, I am tired of the same people making the same proclamations about how they were right, how they know what is best and all the other BS. We have a new Chief in Madison, he is obviously has more credentials than any of us, hence he is the Chief. He was hired and previously working as a Chief, something I believe none of us have experience doing. Who cares who is right and wrong, who cares who was responsible for what happened in the past ten years, let's discuss our hopes for the future and create ideas or concepts about what we would like to see as the customer, not complain about what hasn't happened.

I thought the goal of these types of forums were to discuss topics of interest, not bicker over petty things from the past. If Madison is ever going to progress to serve the community, it must first get out of the shadows of the past. If you can't let go of the past, you are part of the problem.

Waterfront, no personal attacts here, just a query of the posts and a general observation from someone with an open mind and a hope for the future, not interested in dwelling in the past.

Were you ever the Chief of the MFD? Are you an expert on anything?

Your idea of debate is, if you don't like what I say then just leave, or you're not qualified. Your immaturity says a lot about your character. You see yourself as a leader, but to me, you're nothing more than a disgruntled worker.

I was a Lt., District Captain, Assistant Chief of the MFD, Chief of Emergency Services for the City of East Cleveland, EMS Administrator for the University Hospital Health System and the Director of EMT/Paramedic training for Cuyahoga Community College and was the Director of the Associate Degree in EMS program at the same college. That totals 34 years of experience in Fire and EMS.

Does that answer your question? I can add a Bachelors, Masters and two years post graduate college education.

I showed you mine now show me yours!

Show me where I attacked anyone without being attacked first. The last post by Madison Lefty was absolutely irresponsible and shows he knows NOTHING about me but still tries to call me out. I am tired of him shooting off his mouth just to hear his head roar!

Are you an idiot? ( query guys ) . The fact is that you have to present your work and educational experience in damn near every post raises a red flag for me. Everything you say, is your opinion and no more. Can you present facts? With all your education, are you even capable of critical thinking?(query)

I am going to jump in here.. since I have no ties to any of you... I'm quite frustrated that this thread has become nothing but a bashing ground for a personal agenda. What about the facts ??? did I not give you enough to debate about via the photos?? that we need to make it personal??

How about we try something new .... stick the matters at hand.. if you have a personal problem.. work it out another way.. .if you have facts present them here... but stop the BS.. time to grow up and play like adults... who can have conversations without the back biting...

Lefty...he does not have to back up what he says again...the facts have been posted on this forum in the past..We all know Fords history and respect his knowledge. I think it is time you back up what you say with some facts or just stop grinding that ax....

I'm sorry if I hi jacked your thread. The point is that fordcpe has issues that go way beyond the MFD.

I posted one comment in the fire dpt. thread. I have all the facts I need, and so should you.

Tell me about my issues and I will be happy to discuss them. Otherwise I am through dealing with ignorance.

Yes.. you did hijack my thread... the debate is on Station #3... and your point is noted... but should not have been brought to this thread. I may suggest that if you have an issue with MK that you take it up with MK in private. I've gotten to know him in the past few years, and I find him very knowledgeable and a worthy opponent at times. Let's try to get back on track now... and keep the personal stuff somewhere else..

Gee I am ususlly the one that stirs the pot around here :grin2

I will put in my 2 cents "before tax". So its only worth about 1.4 cents.

I worked with Ford for a short period of time while he was Assistant Chief.

In my opinion, he was always a true professional. He cares about the community, and the firefighters, was always willing to lend a hand and help out with training, education, or anything else that needed done.

Being a fresh out of school EMT, it was always reassuring to have him on a squad run just to watch over you and make sure things were right and the patient was being cared for in the best possible way.

I will back up anything he says, and defend his opinions. Is he always 100% right, well no one is, but I sure think you should listen when he speaks, I believe it comes from the heart.

With that being said......Ford, ya remember that 5 bucks I lent ya back in 1989 :sway .

Did I pay you back? If not, PM me a way to send it to you and I will be happy to pay my debt as long as you don't charge me a lot of interest. :icon_biggrin: Thanks for your kind words. I loved the MFD but was not happy what it became over the years. Training young firefighters was a special experience for me.

Best wishes to you. Did you keep going in Fire/EMS?

MK

You dont owe me 5 bucks............

That was my attempt at being funny :icon_cheesygrin:

No I did not continue in the service.

I did the part time thing for awhile, partly for something different and interesting, and partly because I wanted to be involved in helping the community.

OK.................. :rofl Even though you did not remain in the Fire/EMS business I want to thank you for your service. It isn't for everyone. PM me with who you are or were at the time and let me see if my old brain remembers you.

Take care.

Ah ................WINDS OF CHANGE, !! :icon_cheesygrin: VERY VERY WELL SAID!!

Us ole Goats should BUTT OUT and let the New Chief do his thing!

MK and Waterfront and others ALWAYS wanted to be CHIEF, but never did CUT THE MUSTARD, they were never asked or selected, thats not a SLAM, its just a historical fact.

MK and otheres have been actively involved in the MDF, in the past 40 years, Fire Chief Hathaway (my Hereo),

Storming NOrman Chaffee (Rest in peace Brother) , Chief Zilke and Cheif Reynolds (I think) all remember MK and others efforts and lack of support :icon_redface: Thats not being critical, that is being honest. I was there kiddo!!

MK I love ya brother, thanks for your service, and SHUT THE Fuge UP, BUTT OUT !! and let this new Chief run HIS Department
